has there been a scene in a corny action movie where someone in court is like “i plead…… the second” and then pulls out a gun and wastes the judge

for some reason the right to bear arms didn’t occur to me right away, so for a bit and i was wondering if the US somehow had an amendment i’d never heard of that just gave you the right to kill a judge

im not american, can someone explain what he did?

Reagan was elected in 1980, around the same time that HIV began spreading and turning into a pandemic. Nearly 60,000 cases were reported with more than 27,000 dead before he even mentioned the disease in a major speech, during his second term.

His administration spent years pushing back on requests for funding for treatment and research. It’s impossible to know for certain, but if the disease had been aggressively studied and treated in the early years it might have been contained to a few hundred or few thousand deaths here in the USA.

Also he cut funds for mental health treatment and facilities, turning disabled people out onto the streets, the War on Drugs was cranked up to inner-city warfare, and the fundamentalist Christian “Moral Majority” that was his power base happily watched queers and black people and sex workers and homeless people die alone and scared.

Until Donald Trump was elected, he was the best example of an oblivious wealthy white person riding a wave of bigotry into the White House, and empowering that bigotry to a degree that cost tens of thousands of lives.

TL;DR, he watched us die and didn’t care.

Your yearly reminder that Ronald Reagan’s grave is a gender neutral bathroom.

Good on this man for filming and keeping his hands up. That cop was looking for an excuse to shoot him.

After claiming loudly for EVERYONE ELSE to hear that there’s a gun, he tells that guy much more quietly to turn his car off, meaning the driver would have to pull at least one of his hands inside the car, which would give the sad excuse for a human being every reason he wants to shoot the poor guy. He’d be telling investigators, “Yeah, I saw something that looked like a gun, he reached for it, and I feared for my life. Everyone around me heard me yell ‘gun’. You can ask my coworkers who would vouch for me.” District Attorney would then say, “We found that the officer was complying with protocols and violated no law. He can return to work after his life was nearly ruined by the false claims of onlookers who didn’t see what the officer saw.”

It’s almost as if they’re all reading from the same script.

Baby boomers: why don’t millennials just work 2 jobs?

Minimum wage jobs: ok so we need at least 4 full days of availability, must work holidays, can’t request a set schedule, must work weekends, and you will never know what day or what time you are gonna work until the schedule comes out :)

Millennials: so we’ll get the schedule two weeks in advance right?

Minimum wage job: nah

Millennials: so when will we get it?

Minimum wage job: it’s a surprise :)
